SUMMARY
Service Advisor acts as the liaison between customers and the service department in a truck dealership or repair facility. Their primary responsibility is to ensure a smooth and efficient service experience for customers while supporting the service team in managing workflow and communication.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Essential Duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Customer Interaction: Greet customers, listen to their concerns, and gather vehicle information.
- Service Coordination: Schedule service appointments, create repair orders, and assign jobs to technicians based on skill and availability.
- Communication: Provide clear estimates for cost and time, update customers on repair progress, and explain completed work.
- Administrative Duties: Identify warranty claims, third-party billing, and maintain accurate service records.
- Technical Support: Assist shop foreman and technicians with job clarification and ensure quality control during repairs.
- Customer Satisfaction: Resolve complaints professionally and ensure a high level of service quality and customer care.
Maintains high customer satisfaction standards.
Maintains a professional appearance.
Keeps work area clean and organized at all times
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Fill in as weekend foreman, this will be a schedule rotation with all of the service advisors.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Need a minimum of 1 year experience in the Service Advisory role
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Bilingual a plus
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certifications – Preferred but not required.
Manufacturer Training – Preferred but not required
Valid Driver's License – Required
